THEATRE
After spending time as a pit musician throughout his career, Jeff Chambers entered the creative side of theatre in 2017 in collaboration with his long-time friend Jesse Sanchez. Initially assisting Jesse with additional music on his new work, "SUEÑOS - Our American Musical", Jeff would go on to orchestrate the show and assist with four developmental readings, a cabaret style concert and a new works series presentation. In August of 2018, Jeff served as a music assistant to a new musical called, "Once Upon a Rhyme” shortly before it was produced at New York University. SUEÑOS, a timely new Latinx musical, follows the contemporary journey, interrelationships, and dynamics of three generations of a Mexican-American family as they confront challenges, make sacrifices, break cycles, and celebrate community in their pursuit of the American Dream. The story follows Ali Viramontes, who navigates a path of paternal expectations, maternal support, and sexual awakening, and while coming of age, questions his church, faces unexpected responsibility, and making momentous decisions that will impact his promising career in music and affect the future of his loved ones.
